My UNSW adventure is back on, been five weeks now.
I am taking Risk Management and Management of Innovation
and Change. The first one is taught by a very enthusiastic
and always 'on' facilitator Harry Rosenthal. He brings a
lot of energy in the class, I was totally 'hit' in the first one.
But with over supply of that, its effect seems to have worn
off now. His style of all out encouragement for students to 'participate'
means there is basically no discussion on stuffs in the course
material itself at all. Everybody seems to have a free
ride to blur out their 'views'. What started as a free flowing
strong forum for course related discussions now seem
totally direction less, I normally don't have clue what
these student 'experts' are saying. If they already knew
so much about the topics, why are they here? Each
seems to be so eager to speak first, that they basically
drown out the other once when they can. Its a joke.
The second subject is by Jeff Bentley-Johnston.
This one is far more orderly and in line with the course.
Its not all fireworks in this one, but feels balanced
and useful. But yet, there still are these over charged
self experts who try to show off their 'expertise'
whenever they can.
Well, I guess this is the new way of learning. But the
level of materials and facilitators are pretty good.
This is vastly different from other typical MIS
facilitators, who seem to be coming from last century.
